The MaST Center Aquarium is an educational extension of Highline College where formal and informal educational programs are offered to both students and community members. This year, Highline College and Green River College have partnered to host 4 weeks of Sound Science Camp at the MaST as a part of Discovery Academy!

SUMMER 2024 is on our minds and probably yours too! Be sure to sign-up for email notifications about upcoming info. sessions, PRIORITY ACCESS for the opening of registration, and a 10% DISCOUNT code. Don’t forget we also offer a 10% DISCOUNT for registering multiple campers and registering for multiple camps! Priority access opens April 4th and general registration starts April 15th.

Hands on Science

Sound Science Summer Camp offers campers the opportunity to participate in a variety of hands-on educational experiences at the MaST Center Aquarium. These activities provide a skill base that can be used in most marine science careers. Campers have the unique experience of learning about the Puget Sound while being immersed in the marine environment!

Activities include, but are not limited to:

• Intertidal explorations
• Aquarium animal identification
• Animal collection
• Creative writing processes
• Skill development using microscopes, plankton nets and other scientific equipment

Experienced Instructors

Instructors in environmental fields and related disciplines teach science based programs to campers.

Programs include, but are not limited to:

• Anatomy
• Dissections
• Conservation efforts
• Environmental preservation
• Marine biology
• Animal identification
• Creative writing
